About the Artist ABOUT ME My name is Amanda and I’m an accountant by day and pour artist by night! I grew up in the greater Seattle area, went off to college for an accounting degree, and now I’m working as an accountant and loving it. However, something was missing so I started painting again. It didn’t take long to get hooked on the pour art methods and begin slowly developing an art studio. I’ve been painting for over 3 years now. I’m still fascinated by how often a new technique or product is developed to try out so there’s never a dull moment! HOW I GOT STARTED I fell into this fluid art world in early 2019. I was searching for new inspiration for acrylic painting and came across a new style called “pour art”. After that first pour into a plastic baggie, I was hooked. I had no idea what I was doing, but I began testing out different pouring techniques – from Dirty Cup pours to Tree Ring pours to Dutch pours. I tested multiple paint types and pouring mediums, and TONS of color combinations until I found my preferred colors and combinations (teals, purples, pinks, and blues).
